Welcome to the Pet Ministry-PS

We are committed to finding forever homes for "Angels in Fur Coats" that are lost, abandoned or surrendered by their owners due to re-location. Since we are not a shelter, we look for foster homes to care for dogs and cats before they are placed in a new permanent home. Since 2009, Pets available for adoption were introduced on the patio of the Center for Spiritual Living-Palm Desert on the third Sunday of each month (excluding June, July, and August) where new owners were screened by our volunteers to determine the best home for each pet. Donations and fund-raising proceeds are used for medical care and spaying/neutering. Donations are tax-deductible.  After celebrating our 11th Anniversary in February 2020, the Pet Ministry-PS had to stop adoptions on the CSL-PD patio after they switched to online services only in March 2020.  Pets for adoption are now available by individual “Meet & Greet” visits. So please contact us if you are looking for a new best friend.

Thank you for your support!

The Pet Ministry is celebrating our 12th Anniversary in February 2021.  For 11 years, we held monthly adoption/fundraising events at The Center for Spiritual Living-Palm Desert. Over the years, we have raised thousands of dollars with our monthly bake sales and from donations which are used for pet food, spaying and neutering and medical expenses.  Since the start of the Pandemic, our fundraising events have stopped, and our adoptions are by appointment only.

We are hopeful that we will be able to resume fundraising events in the future and we are very grateful to our volunteers and donors for all the generous support. We look forward to many more years of rescuing Angels in Fur Coats and finding them loving, forever homes.

In the past twelve years, we have found loving, forever homes for hundreds of homeless dogs and cats. We have also helped people who needed assistance with medical expenses and vet referrals and have provided food for their pets. We also post on Facebook pets available at shelters and rescues and may be lost or missing.

The next decade of the Pet Ministry will be focused on developing and building, New Harmony Habitat: A Sanctuary for Senior People & Pets.  We are working on plans for a

72-unit development to be built in Palm Springs with affordable rents for senior people with pets. Please visit our website at NewHarmonyHabitat.

Below are just some of the photos of the more than 300 pets that we found loving, forever homes.
